My name is Ciin Kim.
What does your name mean?
Yeah! My name's means " love around you."
Where were you born?
I was born in Myanmar Chin State (Tedim). In my country, there are eight states. Which Chin state is one of those state. In Chin state there are many mountains, a lot of trees and the weather is cold. There were build a lot of houses on the hills. I love my hometown.I left my hometown when I was a kid.I think I was about seven years old in that time.
Where did you grow up?
My family moved to the other state. That state is not like chin state it doesn't have many mountains, many places are flat . That state is called Kalaymyo. It is a city,but not that large. I went to the middle school. I like my new places. I had a lot of friends and found some best friends for my life. I lived there almost ten years. Then, my family were moved to the capital city Yangon(Rangon). It was there almost eight years spent time with my family. Then , We had opportunities to came to the United State Of America.
Did you live in a refugee camp? What was it like?
NO! I didn't live in the refugee camp. That's why I have no answer for this question .
Did you go to school there? How was it different from schools in the U.S?
When did you arrive in the U.S?
I've arrived in the U.S on January 31 2014. Now I have been here for one year.
What did you think the U.S would be like?
I think the U.S is such a freedom country and good health care. One of the most I really like about this country is the education system.
What was it really like?
What was your first day/ year of school like here?
My first day of school was very funny because I don't understand about the schedule showed what to do and where to go, even i couldn't speak one word to asked a question in English.
How were teachers the sane or different in the U.S and your home school?
There are many differences between the school in U.S and the school in my country.
Teachers are very friendly and helpful to their students in U.S, in my country teachers where helpful but not that friendly as a American teachers.
Now how do you feel about school?
Imm! I could say I feel much better than last year in school. I could understand a little and I can speak to other people easier.
How do your parents feel about living in the U.S?
I think my parents feel safe for the whole family and they can take care to the right way, but they have difficulties language and new environment.
What would make your life better here?
I would make my life better here because now I'm arrived at a good place.
Do you have any other stories about coming to the U.S?
No, but I want to make my goals and I will make a better life in here.
How do you feel about your country and the U.S?
I feel between my country and United States are different because of language and culture.
Is there someone you left behind? Who? Do you talk to them how?
I left my lovely grandmother and friends back in my country. Often we had talk on telephone and online. Usually the networks connection are not that good in my country like United States. Which mean we could talk just sometime.
Did you feel safe in the U.S? Why? Why not?
I feel like I'm not safe in my country. There are many terrible things happened on people by civil wars.
Do you feel safe in the U.S? Why? Why not?
Its much more comfortable in United States but also safe for every single one because the good government leading the country and they respect each others.
What does freedom mean to you in the U.S?
I believe that does freedom mean to me is we can do whatever under the country laws. When I say whatever that should be the good things whatever we do.
How does the weather affect you in the U.S?
The weather affect in U.S because in my country I had never seen snow , so this country is so cold. The summer is I'm right because my country is hot weather.
What is your dream?
My have a lot of dream but my ambition dream is a good famous architects engineers and living together with my own family.

My Thankful
In the first, my thankful is my lovely parents because they was give to my life. I am admire my parents and my family. My father is my hero and my mother is my role woman. They are important in my life and I love they so much. They are every told I'm go to the true way and they are control everything. They are send to me in America. I am thankful my parents and my family.
One more thing, my thankful is my high school . My High School is Furness High School in Philadelphia . I'm thankful my school because of my school give to me a lots of knowledge and in my faculty. My school is a great for my life because it have a lots of esol students. I am came from another country and I do not English speaking, written and all of things. Now, I learn to the English world and speaking. I am thankful my Furness High School.
In the last, my thankful is all of my teachers in high school. They are very kindness and helpfully. All of my teachers are understand in students. Because all most of students are came from another country and different language. That sure it is hard to teach for teachers but they are carrying and teach. I'm tankful all of my teachers.

Surprise in America
Now, I have been in the United States of America in ten months.When I moved to the US,everything is change and I have a new dream.I think it is a good for me and my family.In the first surprise,I saw a big airport in New York and I saw a lots of snow and I felt heavy cold.
The second surprise,It is change for my life.Because now I'm go to the High School.In my country I'm not go to the High School.I am happy and I will make for my future.In my High School, all of my teachers are very kind and helpful.I love all of my teachers.
In the third surprise,now I'm learning to English speaking and writing. I'm happy and I like this country.A lots of change for my life and I got a lots of new things.I will be good batter life and my family in America.
